SANTA FE (AP) - Gov. Bill Richardson has named the members of a new task force on pay equity.
It will be chaired by Martha Burk, his senior adviser on women's issues.
It includes business and union leaders, educators, legislators and members of his cabinet.
The job of the 14-member task force is to look at state government, examine gender, ethnic and racial pay equity within agencies, and recommend solutions to eliminate gaps.
It would also develop a system that private-sector employers could use to measure inequities and fix them.
Richardson created the task force earlier but named its members on Tuesday, national Equal Pay Day.
