Mission Statement:
Nonprofit organization working on media democracy and media justice issues. We work to stimulate ideas on the radical restructuring of the communications media so that individuals can communicate directly to others, not just huge corporations. We also seek a media system where there is more equitable outreach.

We publish the annual print Directory of Women's Media that is also available online with no charge to access. The categories include women's print and online periodicals, publishers, news services, media organizations, video & film groups, music groups, bookstores and more. We also publish a print periodical entitled Voices for Media Democracy and an online newsletter, Media Democracy Online. WIFP operates with no paid staff.
