Mission - To link underemployed working poor women to living wage job training programs and employment opportunities.
Offering a poverty-reduction strategy to underemployed low-income women living in Delaware. Our organization is committed to investing in our working poor through providing scholarships to cover the costs involved in pursuing and engaging in short-to moderate-term living wage job training programs. Offering a variety of programs & services including living wage-centered Career Counseling and Guidance to eligible participants as well as 3 programs - Sponsorship Program (scholarships awarded that cover approved job training costs, child care and transportation); Women´s Mentoring Program (offering program participants a qualified and dedicated mentors that assist them in meeting their career-related goals); and a Business Works! Partnership Program (local businesses offer earn-while-you-learn internship positions to qualified candidates). Overall priority is to invest in our working poor and help them to move towards self-sufficiency.
